It’s National Doughnut Day today and if you aren’t able to go to the many places giving out free doughnuts we may be able to help you. Instead of celebrating this delicious holiday with classic, glazed dough, try out these doughnut fries to satisfy your craving.

Luckily, you won’t need many ingredients for this sweet treat and can easily find them in your local grocery store. First, you’ll want to heat up either a deep fryer to 350°F or at least two inches of oil in a lidded pot on the stove.

While your oil is heating up, open up your can of biscuits and begin flattening them to the size of your palm. Slice the dough into four strips and start rolling each strip into a long, skinny cylinder-like shape. Pour granulated sugar into a bowl and roll each strip into it until lightly coated.

Now that your doughnut fries are coated in sugar, place them into your hot oil. Use tongs to turn the strips until they are a nice golden brown. Remove from the oil and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Then enjoy!

If you are wanting to jazz up your fries with dips, try making a sauce that combines ketchup and grape jelly. Mix the two ingredients in a bowl until they are completely integrated. If you’re looking for a bit of a kick, then stir the hot sauce and maple syrup. Add some powdered sugar into the mix and you’ll be ready to go.
