The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has changed the way a majority of industries operate, especially when it comes to retail shopping. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a majority of retails have opted to close their doors on one of the busiest days of the year, Thanksgiving aka Black Friday.

The decision to have stores stay closed on the biggest retail holiday of the year is to prevent creating large groups of people in a public space that is unsafe due to social distancing measures. Though a majority of retailers are opting out of having stores stay open on Black Friday, a couple of retailers decided to offer early deals for holiday shopping.

Big retailers are offering deals starting in October including Amazon and Target. Amazon will be offering the annual Prime Day event on October 13 and 14 and Target will be hosting a sale event on the same days for Target Deals Days.

Amazon is offering a lot of deals for Prime members including 40% Amazon brands, 20% off select furniture, 60% off subscription boxes, 50% off Kindle Unlimited, and more. Target will be hosting the Target Deals Days along with 14 days of beauty and style events that offers up to 50% off certain products in-store and online until October 10.

Walmart will also be closed for Black Friday and is opting to offer deals for its “Big Save Event” from Oct. 11 to Oct. 15 with great deals on house appliances. Walmart will be offering a deal on for $50 off the Pioneer Woman 6-Quart Instant Pot and a 55-inch JVC 4K HDR Roku Smart Tv for $248.
