Lana Del Ray is known for her singing and songwriting but she’s exploring her poetic side literally with her poetry audiobook “Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass.” Along with the announcement of her new audiobook she is also promising fans her next album is coming soon.

Back in January Lana fans started buzzing when the artist announced on social media that she worked 13 months to create a short book of poetry and today fans finally get to experience Lana’s first poetry book. The audiobook Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass includes 14 poems read by Lana herself with accompanied music from Jack Antonoff (producer of her last album in 2019).

The audiobook is available immediately but bibliophiles will be able to purchase a hard copy version available on September 29. The audiobook will be available on all formats including traditional versions on a CD and vinyl.

Without spoiling too much, the poetry is Lana’s love story of Los Angeles while reflecting on the goods and the bads of L.A. Lana also plans to give back by donating half the proceeds of the new book to the Navajo Water Project that provides Navajo families access to clean running water.

Lana has also revealed that she is planning on releasing a second collection of poems that is rumored to be titled Iron Gates – Insights From an Institution in the near future. For fans of Lana’s music, you’re in luck because she is planning on releasing her seventh studio album “Chemtrails Over the Country Club” which is set to drop on September 5.
