LiveXLive Media announced its first Lockdown Awards for a quarantine-based award show celebrating the best music of 2020 from home. The award categories are related to lockdown and quarantine performances as a majority of live music performances are canceled or delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The leading artists with the most nominees for the Lockdown Awards are Ben Platt, Camila Cabella, Yungblud, John Legend, Cynthia Erivo, Andrea Bocelli, and Chris Martin. The Lockdown Awards nominees are being recognized for unique performances that took place in large outdoor areas or virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Lockdown Awards are focusing on acknowledging and celebrating the creative innovation in the live streaming space in our inaugural year. As we honor artists’ accomplishments, we will support NIVA and the ongoing efforts to enrich the venues that present artists. We are supporting an entertainment medium now and into the future that has been extraordinary during these challenging times.”- LiveXLive chief creative officer Garrett English
