The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is causing nationwide shortages of essential items including coins, but one Taco Bell is asking customers to help with the promise of a free taco. The newly opened Taco Bell location in Newman, California was experiencing issues with its bank with limited coin withdrawals and is asking for some help from its customers.

Stores across the country are requesting customers to pay in exact change in cash, credit, or debit in response to the shortage but the Newman Taco Bell location wants to offer an incentive for customers to provide exact change. The Newman Taco Bell location is offering customers a free taco to anyone who pays with coin rolls.

This also isn’t the first time a restaurant has created a unique solution to a pandemic problem. A Chick-fil-A restaurant in Lynchburg, Virginia is running a similar promotion July 29 offering a free entree to anyone who comes to exchange a $10 coin roll for a $10 paper bill.
