Taylor Swift had a busy year after the release of her latest “Folklore” album but the country-pop star wanted to celebrate her 31st birthday with her fans. Swift announced she will be releasing her ninth studio album and second studio album of 2020 “Evermore” to be released at midnight.

“Evermore” features 15 new songs and the album is the follow-up to “Folklore” as its “sister record” according to Swift. The singer/songwriter has worked more on her music in her free time staying at home during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Taylor Swift wants to take listeners on a journey saying, “It feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.” Fans will be able to listen to the new album on a digital copy of the album available starting midnight for $9.99 and can also make a great holiday gift.

This album comes sooner than anticipated compared to previous time periods between Swift albums and is a surprise after her latest project with Disney+. Taylor Swift worked with Disney+ to bring fans into the studio for her “folklore” album for a special directed by Swift herself for “Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions.”

Swift is known for her work ethic but she truly took advantage of 2020 for some of the best music of her career. Though Swift hasn’t announced her next project, Swift is surely working on her next project.
