Sometimes saying goodbye to your doggy every morning to go to work can be hard for some. So if you’re thinking about skipping the parting words and just bringing your canine friend along to work here are some tips.

First of all, make sure that your office would even be okay with your dog being in the office. Make sure you check with management and your co-workers to get confirmation on whether or not your dog will be welcomed in the building.

When you do get the green-light to bring your four-legged friend along make sure to dog-proof the office. Remove poisonous plants and pesticides, hide electrical cords and wires and secure toxic items such as permanent markers. Any office items that you question on whether or not to be safe should be placed out of paw’s reach.

When it comes to the food your dog eats, treat a day at the office like a road trip. Prepare a day’s worth of supplies in a doggie bag. Think a diaper bag for your baby, but this one is for your dog. Make sure to include food, treats, bowls, toys, leash, paper towels, clean-up bags, and pet-safe disinfectant.
