Maternity Marvels: The Wondrous yootoo Maternity Bra

A Functional & Stylish Maternity Bra You’ll Love to Wear

The love-hate relationship an expecting woman experiences with her maternity bra is VERY real. Fit, functionality, comfort, price point, and yes, style, all play a huge role in deciding which maternity bra to get. Of course, no woman with expanding breasts wants the ever-so-lovely “cup runneth over” effect so full coverage is must, but that does not necessarily mean we’re ready to trade-in our cute pre-pregnancy lingerie for something that looks like it came out of grandma’s underwear catalog. We want comfort, we need functionality, we deserve style, and finally there’s a maternity bra designed with these three key features in mind; it’s the yootoo maternity bra.

As a woman in the third trimester of her second pregnancy I can tell you firsthand that your usual pre-pregnancy bra won’t be making the grade when “the girls” start to get growing. This is why I love, love, LOVE, the yootoo bra, because it’s designed to fit me during the pregnancy stage I’m currently in and continue growing with me, thanks to its patented UGrow knit weave which provides a constant fit as I progress into the final stages of pregnancy and well into the breastfeeding phase. I think the reason behind this expert craftsmanship is simple; the yootoo bra was designed by a mom specifically for moms and therefore has all the features we want and need.

Now I’ve got to be honest here, finding a bra that fit properly pre-pregnancy was no easy task for me in general, I was measuring a 36-38 DD (or DDD depending on the retailer) and most off-the-rack options were either ridiculously ill-fitting or ludicrously overpriced, so you can image my anxiety when it came to selecting a maternity bra. This brings me to yootoo’s simple sizing chart which uses the S, M, L, XL sizing scale that I adore, this just makes things that much easier when selecting the right bra and FYI… they support sizes 32A-46I!!!

Next we’ve got the color options; the yootoo bra comes in a range of 3 nude hues and black. Now as a woman of color the concept of “nude” can get pretty tricky, but alas in yootoo’s hue called “Cassia” I found a nude that suits my skin tone, which I generally liken to a warm toasted almond color in the spring/summer months. This was actually the first time since I started wearing bras that I found a “nude” bra color that matched my skin tone so accurately, kudos to the folks at yootoo for that achievement!

Now onto style, when it comes to my bras I’m not a huge fan of the Victoria Secret look unless I’m practicing the “art of seduction” and frankly it’s rare the store even carries my size anyway. But, as most women will probably agree, I do enjoy a hint of cuteness in my everyday lingerie, even when I myself may not be feeling so cute (enter the overwhelming fatigue and whale-like air of being in the third trimester). This is why I admire yootoo’s attention to detail in their bra, it’s genuinely cute with its bowed accents and feminine touches of lace trim. I can truly appreciate the stylish aspect of this bra because it’s something I feel pretty in on a daily basis.

When I say daily, I really mean daily, since getting the bra I’ve worn it to work, on date nights and even to bed, which is a serious milestone for me because I’m the type of woman who can’t wait to de-bra once home but with the yootoo bra I don’t feel the need to rush right out of it as soon as I hit the front door. It’s just that comfortable; almost to the point that I forget I’m even wearing a bra. The cotton fabric is breathable and stretchy and with 6 (yes 6!!) hook-and-eye levels this bra is one that really does grow with you through all phases of pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. There’s no restricting tense feeling around my rib cage, no under wire constantly jabbing my sides, no horribly tight straps that dig into my shoulders, and for that I could not be more thankful. Honestly, when pregnant, there are plenty of uncomfortable little side effects to be experienced but wearing a maternity bra should not be one of them. I am 100% certain that I’ll be wearing this bra long past my delivery date and well past the breastfeeding phase, it’s just that awesome!

Finally, one of the most important things I love about the yootoo company in general, outside of their outstanding bra, is that they believe in a safe road to motherhood for all expecting women. That’s why they have vowed to donate a portion of every yootoo purchase to the charity Every Mother Counts to help ensure that all women have access to quality maternal healthcare. So not only can you feel comfortable making a yootoo purchase you can also feel good about helping to provide a safe entry into motherhood for another mother somewhere in the world.

Not only do I give this bra a HUGE thumbs up, but notice how great it looks under a simple fitted tank! No puckering, ripples, side-boob issues, or lack of support!!
