Rihanna Teams With LMVH For Fenty Fashion Line

As fans continue to await new music, Rihanna continues to grow her empire. After the singer broke the status quo of the beauty industry with its inclusivity of all skin tones and genders, she is now ready to do the same with a luxury brand.

Over the weekend, LVMH, Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton, the world’s largest luxury group announced that they were teaming up with the “Work” singer to create a new fashion line. Making Rihanna not only the first black woman of her kind, but the first woman to create an original brand at LVMH.

This is the first time LVMH has created a new house since Christian Lacroix back in 1987 and will now put her alongside brands like Dior, Givenchy, Celine, and Fendi.

“Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us,” Rihanna said in the statement. “Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn’t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together.”

Not only has Rihanna becoming the first woman to create a new brand at LVMH, but she is the first brand of the Instagram/social media age to be supported by one of the three big groups that have defined the global luxury era.

The songstress’ fashion house will be based in Paris and will feature ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories and will be “centered on Rihanna, developed by her, and takes shape with her vision,” according to a statement from LVMH.”

Along with the announcement, LVMH also teased that fans could expect to see products from the new company in just a few weeks.
