When it comes to Georgia’s “Heartbeat Bill” it seems Hollywood has been the most vocal about its opposition. That all changed when Ariana Grande took a stand against the anti-abortion law by donating a huge portion of her concert’s proceeds to Planned Parenthood.

The singer performed in Atlanta over the weekend and showed her support for women’s rights while also becoming one of the first musical acts to take a stand against the southern state. “Ariana Grande’s generous donation comes at a critical time — in Georgia and across the country, anti-women’s health politicians are trying to ban all safe, legal abortion,” Planned Parenthood president Leana Wen, MD, said in a statement.

For her part, Grande donated $250,000 of her concert’s profits to the organization to help with legal fees as they continue to fight the state’s bill. “This is not what the American people want, nor is it something they’ll stand for. Thanks to inspiring support like hers, Planned Parenthood can continue to fight back — in the courts, in Congress, in state houses and in the streets — against these dangerous attacks on people’s health and lives.”

Last month, Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp signed a six-week abortion ban into law which sparked widespread criticism from the film and entertainment industry and activists across the nation.

Major studios, like Netflix and Disney have already alluded to the fact that if the bill did in fact become law they would rethink their production relationship with the state.
