Bridesmaids, You Don’t Have To Go Broke!

Bella Breakdown

Weddings are expensive, but being a bridesmaid doesn’t have to be. There are several hacks to help you perform your duties without breaking the bank.

After the bride gives you specifications for the bridesmaid dress, hunt for sales. Often times, stores like David’s Bridal will briefly discount dress styles so keep a close watch. It’s also important to keep in mind that your local dry cleaner can alter the dress for much cheaper than a bridal shop.

If the items on the registry are too pricey, look elsewhere. Discounted home stores usually carry the same products as the stores brides register with. You can either find the same exact glassware she wants or something dangerously close.

Book travel as soon as you know the dates. Prices will only rise as the wedding approaches. Sometimes bundling flights and hotel stays is the most cost-effective route to take.

If the bachelorette party isn’t feasible, you’re allowed to say no. While you might miss out on the mimosas and male strippers, your bank account will appreciate it. You can make up for your absence by taking the bride on a lunch date.

Lastly, if the cost to get your hair and make up done is outrageous, do it yourself or have a fellow bridesmaid do it for you. There is no need to spend an arm and a leg on hair that will fall and make up that will sweat off when you’re dancing.

And that is how you “bridesmaid” on a budget.
