Practicing social distancing hasn’t been easy, with a lot of people missing spending time with their friends. Thanks to Netflix, you can now go into the new ‘party’ mode to have a binge-watching fest with your friends without having to leave the house.

Netflix Party is a Google Chrome extension that allows you to remotely watch movies and TV shows with your friends. The plugin can be downloaded in your browser and you can use it whenever you watch Netflix, where you can host a party with other users from the comfort of your home.

All you need to do is launch the “party” and Netflix generates a link for you to share with your friends, then your friends can click on the link and join the party. The new feature also offers a live group chat function so you with the option to start or pause the show so everyone stays at the same spot in the TV show or movie your watching.

With most movie theaters and other entertainment businesses closing their doors in the response to the coronavirus, this a great alternative option to catching up with your friends while you enjoy a movie or TV show.
