Fans Get The First Look At The New ‘Charlie’s Angels’

The new generation of Charlie’s Angels has finally arrived in the form of the film’s first trailer. Released earlier this week, the trio features Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska.

Directed by Elizabeth Banks, who will also appear in the film, the angel’s trailer gave fans a look into what the new female-spy film will like while also paying homage to McG’s take on the spy classic that featured Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu.

The trailer opens with Stewart, who will be playing Angel Sabina, seducing one of the film’s bad guys who of course
underestimates the power of women. “I think women can do anything,” Sabina purrs, establishing the film’s thesis right up front. “Just because they can doesn’t mean they should,” he replies.

From there we see the appearance of Balinska’s Jane. Fresh off of her Aladdin success, Scott will be playing Elena.
A programmer who has developed a very powerful, but potentially dangerous, product. She seems to be a potential victim who is being protected by the Angels but ends up joining the Townsend Agency herself, conveniently making her our guide as we enter a new era in the classic franchise.

The trailer also featured this new era of angels take on Destiny’s Child “Independent Women, Pt. 1.,” but with Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey.
