Kate Winslet Names Son ‘Bear’

Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet gave birth in London to a 9lb baby boy two weeks ago. However, the name was withheld until recently.

Winslet now joins a long list of celebrities that have chosen unusual names for their offspring. Kate’s name of choice is…Bear.

The news came from Kate’s spokeswomen who confirmed the news by stating “They both absolutely adore him – and the name bear.”.

We’ve got to say that while it is definitely different, Bear is kind of cute too! Can’t you just picture the little guy trudging around the house or cuddling up all cute and sweet! Yup, we predict a solid spike in the popularity of the name in the near future.

Kate and Ned married in December 2012 and currently live in West Sussex, where it is reported Bear and mother are both doing well.

Little Bear will take his mothers surname instead of Rocknroll.

Kate is already a mother of Mia Honey, 13 and Jow Alfie, 10, so Bear brings the kiddo count to three for the British Titanic star.

While Bear is a unique name for sure it not the first time Hollywood has gotten a taste of the unusual moniker.

Alicia Silverstone has a son named Bear Blu and there’s of course Bear Grylls, a noted TV adventurer with a hit show.
