2018 could very well be the year of avocado toast and almond milk. Even if you don’t realize it, different foods tend to trend each year. Just like music and fashion, every food has it’s hay day in the mouths and on the Instagram feeds of many. So what are the forecasted food trends of 2019?

1. Plant-based Proteins
This is great for vegan and vegetarian individuals. Pea protein is going to a be in a lot of foods as a great protein supplement.

2. Legume Pastas
If you’re trying to cut back on simple carbohydrates, but love pasta, then don’t fret. Legume pasta made with chickpeas and red and green lentils are going to take over the pasta world.

3. Probiotics
Sparkling probiotic drinks, oatmeal, and dairy-free drinks that help with good gut health and proved you with necessary probiotics will be extremely helpful and extremely popular in 2019.

4. Low-FODMAP foods
FODMAP is an acronym for Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols. These are typically simple carbohydrates and sugar alcohols that the body has a hard time digesting. This kind of diet will help to ease abdominal pain and bloating.

5. Non- Dairy Options
Individuals with lactose issues are more common than individuals without. Therefore the creation of non-dairy beverages are, and will keep being, extremely prevalent.
