Since 2011, Game of Thrones has been captivating HBO subscribers everywhere with captivating characters like Arya Stark, Jon Snow, Sansa Stark, Tyrion Lannister, and more. But none have seemed to come quite so far as Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, who captivating not only the hearts of her three dragon babies, but also the hearts of America through her strength, grit, and passion.

And while those standout characteristics are defining of Daenerys, they aren’t the only notable thing about her. Our Mother of Dragon consistently sports the most intricate of braids, regardless of what the occasion is. She is known for her insanely thick, white-blonde locks that are too good to be true, and we’ve never seen them look anything less than perfect.

That is, until now.

Emilia Clarke recently shared a photo of her on the set of Game of Thrones wearing a bald cap underneath the wig that Dany typically wears to stay in character. It sent fans into a bit of a frenzy, as it’s a sight none of us ever expected to see. We love Dany’s unattainable locks, after all.
