Netflix Drops Trailer For Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Documentary ‘Knock Down The House’

Bella Breakdown

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been shaking the tables in the White House since being elected to Congress. Now her followers―and critics―can see what it took for her to get there in a new Netflix documentary.

The movie/TV streaming app released the first trailer for the $10 million doc ‘Knock Down the House’ that not only follows AOC, but three other women who ran for a seat in Congress. Each woman involved in the film had different motivations for putting their names on the 2018 midterm ballots, but the theme is the same: working-class women who got fed up with their state’s representatives.

“Before my primary, three women & I agreed to film our journey of trying to run for office without big money,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted soon after the trailer’s release. AOC may have been the only one involved to come out victorious in her campaign, the upcoming documentary will surely touch the many people who supported these four women during their run.

Described as “an inspiring look at the 2018 midterm elections that tipped the balance of power,” Netflix’s political documentary has already become an award winner after receiving the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival.
