As expected, DC’s ‘Shazam!’ has crossed the $100 million mark, domestically. The superhero film starring Zachary Levi was released earlier this month and has claimed the number one spot at the box office for the third week in a row.

With a budget of $90 million, ‘Shazam!’ has already accumulated $170 million in international sales placing the DC film at around $275 million in total with the potential to reach $300 million soon. While nowhere near the revenue of DC’s most successful films ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Wonder Woman,’ the next few weeks will give ‘Shazam!’ the chance to reach the box office revenue of either ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ or ‘Rampage.’

Unfortunately, ‘Shazam!’s’ China numbers haven’t been as great and maybe the main reason why the film won’t see $400 million. Though Hollywood films can see tons of success from the Chinese market, this particular DC film just doesn’t seem to be resonating with viewers if the $40.4 million is anything to go off of.

Nonetheless, the DC comic film’s profits and raving reviews should give fans hope that there is potential for a sequel to be even bigger. With money still to be earned for the movie, no one is happier for the profit more than whoever was responsible for paying that tab for the million-dollar suits created for the film, which totaled to $10 million.
