Every year brings new resolutions, new fashions, new pop culture moments and most importantly new food trends. Recent years has brought a rise in kale, vegan diets and 2019 is on track to have it’s on food trends you’ll want to know.

With more people leaning into CBD-type products, drinks infused with beneficial herbs are on track to become even more popular this year. Just like last year, many health-conscious eaters will continue to strive for a more plant-based diet. Veganism is becoming so mainstream fast food chains like Burger King and KFC are already implementing “faux meat” into their menus.

Tahini desserts have shown that it’s the new craze with some people preferring it over peanut butter. More than just an ingredient in hummus, tahini can be used in ice cream bars, milkshakes, and banana muffins.

While there are foods that are becoming more popular this year, Uber Eats says that the once popular cold brew, acai, Brussel sprouts, and “Unicorn” foods are out. Insider also notes that foods that are losing popularity include; avocado toast, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and pickle-flavored foods are losing their steam.

If you’re hoping to get ahead of the food trends then buying tofu, rolled ice cream, smoothie bowls, seitan and keto diets are the way to go this year.
