We’re all about easy, casual hairstyles this summer. Don’t get us wrong, there’s nothing that makes our heart jump up like a beautiful, triple-braided updo, but sometimes you just want a soft grungy look for a day out running errands. If so, this is the style for you.

Start by taking random sections of hair and wrapping then around your heated curling iron. Wrapping the sections of hair going both towards the face and away from the face, going in both directions so it’s random and choppy.

Holding the hair by the ends and hold the last inch and a half away from the curling iron, to leave it straight for a blunt edge.

Keep going until you’ve done a little over half of your hair so you still have some straight pieces or pieces of your natural texture and then other pieces that have been curled.

Allow to cool and break the curls up with your fingers for a natural wave. For a little extra volume, you can sprinkle some texturizing powder for a matte finish and you’re good to go!
