5 Brilliant Things You Can Do With Mason Jars

Bella Breakdown

We love the humble mason jar. From flower vase to kid friendly cups there are so many uses for these household stapes. What’s also great is you can pick up a box of new lids and suddenly last year’s jars look like new! See what other clever ways you can use them around the house:

  • Salt and Peppa – Do you really need that vintage set of salt and pepper shakers from the antique mall? Why not grab a couple mini mason’s, pop some small holes in and make your own! Bonus points if you do a cute pattern on the lid.
  • Mix it Real Good – Do you blender trick by find a jar size that fits the attachment on your blender. Make sure that the threading lines up for a watertight fit and make the smoothie of your dream… right in the cup for easy clean up.
  • Shake It! Shake, Shake it! – No cocktail shaker? No problem. Just throw some ice in your handy mason jar, top with a regular lid, and shake. For serving, just pop out the lid insert and swap it for your cocktail shaker attachment (with holes in the front) and enjoy!
  • Light My Fire – That unsightly box of matches shouldn’t be in your perfectly organized pantry. Instead, decant your strike-anywhere matches into a small mason jar and fit the lid with a circle of sandpaper. Add a hole and you’ve got your own match dispenser.
  • For the Birds – Bird feeders can be crazy expensive, especially when all you want to do is give them a little bird seed. Instead of spending fortunes on the chickadees, pick up this galvanized chicken feeding attachment and enjoy!
