#1 Chopping/Crushing Aid

Does your recipe call for chopped nut, smashed cookies crumbs, or crushed ice? Well pop whatever needs crushing into your plastic bag, grab a rolling pin and start whacking away. With this method you’ll get a nice even consistency without messing up your cutting board or covering yourself in crumbs.

#2 Stock or Smoothie Storage

Your homemade stock deserves a proper storage vessel and what’s better than a plastic freezer bag? Just fill the bag with your flavorful stock (leaving a little room at the top for expansion) then lay flat in the freezer until frozen. Once frozen you can store them in whatever configuration you’ve got room for, our favorite is to stack our stock togeather like little stock-fill books.

The same principle applies to bulk made smoothies too! Pour your favorite nutritious homemade smoothie into a plastic bag, freeze flat, then simply pop the bag into your refrigerator before bed for a smoothie with perfect consistency in the morning.

#3 Marinade Helper

You can use your freezer bags for a no-mess marinade experience! Simply put your meat, or whatever else needs a flavor bath, into a freezer bag and pile on the mirande ingredients. Then massage/shake everything togeather to make sure the mirande is touching all of the desired surface area of the food, then storage in the refrigerator and flip mid-way through the marinade process to ensure even coverage on both sides.

#4 Meringue Piper

Achieving the perfect meringue shape can be tricky business, but fortunately the freeze bag is just what the culinary doctor ordered! Fill your bag with batter and cut the tip off one of the bottom corners of the bag, leaving a 1/4 – 1/2 inch opening. Then simply pipe your meringue batter into little swirls on your baking sheet and voilĂ , picture perfect meringue rows that are ready for baking.
