Those stunning updo’s of the 70’s just can’t be beat. For an amazing style inspired by Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle grab a handful of bobby pins and your curling iron!

This look starts with a deep side part, make sure to get a good amount of hair going across the face, then clip up for later.

For the other side, section off about two-inches of hair so that we can create those nice loose curl tendrils later. The rest of the look is all about sectioning.

Take the top third of the hair by the crown and clip out of the way. Prep this rest of the hair with a bit of mouse and a little bit of texturizing dust. Start by backcombing the hair for extra texture and create your French twist by pulling up and twisting, then pin into place.

Now, start curling the rest of the hair, take small sections and use a curling wand to heat for about 10 seconds then pin in place. Repeat until you’ve curled all the hair. Allow it to cool about ten minutes so they’re extra curly.

Now, take the curls individually and backcomb the bottom inch or two until it’s standing up on it’s own. Work with the curls and keep in mind the soft bouffant shape you’re going for, anchor into place with pins.

Then, take that front section of hair and sweep across the face, pinning the remainder up to the side. Curl any remaining tendrils and finish off with an amazing amount of hairspray. Knock ‘em dead!
