5 Ways to Tone your Abs in Plank

Bella Breakdown
We love a good plank! It’s one move that tones your front abs, your side abs, and your back, basically your entire core. At the same time just hovering can get a little boring, so throw these five creative toners into the mix to switch up your exercise routine and get fit for summer.

The first is the Whittling Walk, come to the top of a push up with your back flat and your abs tight and lower down on the forearms with the fists in making like an equal sign and walk that back arm in front of the first, inch the feet forward, then the other hand in front again, inching the feet forward, then reverse it back twice again.

That’s one rep, but make sure that you keep the hips square, you don’t want to see them rocking. The next move is the Sizzling Swing, come to a reverse plank and just drop the butt between the arms and swing it back out.

After that give the Side Slimmer a try and show your obliques some love. Come into a side plank with the top arm up over the head, then crunch that elbow to your top knee do your reps, flip and repeat!

Now it’s Crunch Time, another oblique move, come up on the forearm, put your hand behind your head and touch your elbow to the floor, do your reps, switch and repeat.

Last put certainly not least is the Pulsing Plank where you go back to the top of a pushup, lift one leg and lower it slightly along with your upper body. Have fun and mix up your routine to get cut for summer!
