Athleta Designs Empower Sports Bra For Breast Cancer Survivors

The Empower Bra is designed for athletes who have had a mastectomy. ‘Powering through breast cancer recovery’ with soft fabrics that don’t irritate fresh scars, mesh cups for post-surgery implants, and a front zip.

Athleta’s Senior Director of Brand Marketing says, “Breast cancer is important to so many women in our community whether they’ve experienced it themselves or someone they know has it.“

About 12% of women get breast cancer in their lives so 12% of the profits from the Empower Bra in October will go to Recovery on Water, a rowing club for breast cancer survivors. The Empower Bra sells for $54 and was released in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. Along with it is the pink ‘Power of She’ bra, for those that want to support the cause but don’t need the support of the Empower Bra.
