Go Outside! Your Body And Mind Will Thank You Later

Bella Breakdown

As someone who lives, works, and plays in Steamboat, Colorado, I am constantly reaping the benefits of being in nature. The feeling I get when I go outside is exactly why I moved here in the first place.

I love the moment when I walk out of my work space after a long day and finally get to see the way the light plays with the aspen trees, and feel the cold wind on my face. There is nothing that lifts my mood and makes me more content than the sun on my skin, breathing fresh air, and seeing beauty all around me!

And now, science is here to back up why I get the good feels when I am in nature. Apparently, being outside can reduce your blood pressure and anxiety. In fact, being enveloped in greenery can lead to a lower risk psychological disorders.

The best part? You don’t even need to exercise or live in the middle of nowhere! Sitting in a park will do the trick. It is so beneficial, that doctors have begun prescribing it to people.

I love getting my daily dose of nature, whether I am skiing, biking, hiking, or climbing. What are you waiting for? You don’t even have to raise your heart rate, just go sit on a bench at the park near you! (But keep in mind, adding a walk to your nature experience will only increase the benefits!)
